Richland SD hosts family-filled 'Someone Special Dance'

Richland School District held their "Someone Special Dance" Friday evening at the high school.

The event for grades K-6 allowed students to bring their entire families to the dance.

Organizers said that since this was their first time having the dance in 3 years because of the pandemic, they received more than 800 reservations this year.

Money raised from the event benefitted the Parent-Teacher Organization.

Steelers' center Maurkice Pouncey announces his retirement

Pittsburgh, Pa (WJAC) — Pittsburgh Steelers' center Maurkice Pouncey announced his retirement from the NFL on Friday, after 11 seasons. UPDATE State police said in a press release Saturday that Campbell turned himself in on Friday at P.S.P. Huntingdon and was denied bail upon being arraigned. Blair County crews nab alligator in Antis Township

ANTIS TOWNSHIP, Pa. (WJAC) — Update: Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission Patrol Supervisor Craig Garman suspects the alligator was dropped near the river by an owner. He says the southern species can be kept as pets in Pennsylvania, but releasing them into the wild is a crime. Garman says the gator was healthy and suspects he was in the area for a day or two at most. Bottle Works unveils new sculpture park

A new sculpture park was unveiled in Johnstown Thursday.

The Bottle Works Ethnic Arts Center celebrated the addition, made by artist Norman Ed, to the First National Bank Pop Plaza, which is located in community greenspace in the historical district of Cambria City.

The ceremony highlighted partnerships made to make the space a community resource.

The addition also completed a six-year-long project.
