SOMERSET COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — State police in Somerset County say a Salisbury woman is facing charges, accused of burning cigarettes on the skin of a young boy. According to the affidavit, troopers were contacted in February to investigate a CYS complaint regarding burn marks on the finger and neck of a 5-year-old boy. Upon further investigation, authorities questioned 66-year-old Miriam Housel, who claimed that the marks were "birthmarks." Police say doctors at UPMC Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh concluded that the marks were not consistent with any accidental injuries and were left intentionally. [Read More]
